Hazel Iris creates a sound world of Dream Pop and New Wave. "May Queen" is reminiscent of Kate Bush, Florence Welch and Tori Amos and is a tribute to all facets and stages of femininity, with the final act inspired by the late science fiction author Ursula K. LeGuin. Hazel Iris calls her new album DreamWave - a boundary-pushing genre that sweeps the listener into imaginative realities.

"Relaxed drums, tremolo-laden, dreamy electric guitars, sensual bass lines and hypnotizing synthesizer worlds create a particularly dense soundscape, with Hazels' voice floating above it like a polar star over the sea."

A classically-trained musician and storyteller wields text, melody, and rhythm to forge atmospheres that seem otherworldly and mystical. Drawing from folk, pop, electronic, chanson, and science-fiction literature, she creates environments of sound that, like dreams, are both familiar and enigmatic.
